A Note From the Founder
I founded Wilcox Writing on the cusp of the 2023-2024 year as a startup with a passion for words, ideas, and making written content the best it can be. I was always passionate about writing and found interest in making text more concise and effective. There’s always a clearer, more efficient, and more economical way to get an idea across. The use of different words and arrangements can produce different meanings, messages, and feelings in the reader—simply reversing the word order in the sentence can emphasize a different message.
I hope that together we can put your best word forward and create excellent content!
Our Vision and Philosophy
Content should fulfill a purpose, send a message, and engage the reader. Whether we are aware of it or not, words communicate tone, feeling, and ideas and have implicit messaging.
There are roughly one million words in the English language and an innumerable combination of those words. Each word choice and combination, in conjunction with grammar and syntax, sends a different message. So, word choice and organization are crucial to what your text communicates.
We understand that it’s not just words alone that produce meaning, but it’s the conjunction of words, environment, and other content in context that gives the content its meaning. Within the web of words, a higher meaning can stand out, and Wilcox Writing makes sure this meaning communicates what it should so written content is the best it can be.
Wilcox Writing makes sure all the characteristics of the words you communicate align with your purpose so your written content is as effective as it can be. We want all text to say exactly what it should say to get its intended message across.
While adhering to conventions of style, grammar, and diction, we also take into consideration your own brand, image, and style. We aim to reach a healthy balance of professionalism, convention, and your intended image and message.
Our Approach
Effective text requires a holistic approach. We use a PAIT model. This means we work with you to determine what you want to achieve in your content (Purpose), who you hope to reach (Audience), your brand and intended image (Image), and what your content is about (Topic). By understanding all four, we can make sure the words you communicate reach your purpose, engage your audience in the right way, stay in line with your image, and remain accurate and on topic.
It’s not always easy to choose the right words to communicate an idea and arrange them for maximum effectiveness. Let us take that burden off of you and do what we do best—create effective content.
